Volleyball
The volleyball program is made up of four competitive teams, which each compete in their respective leagues in Greater Victoria, the Vancouver Island Championships and the BC Championships. Vancouver Island is a well-known hotbed for volleyball, producing strong athletes thanks to well-established programs, which makes weekend tournaments up and down the Island, as well as trips to Vancouver, a competitive and exciting experience for all of our athletes.
SMUS program includes:
- Coaching from Brady Doland (NCCP Level 2 Certified Coach, AA Sr. Boys Volleyball Vancouver Island Zone Rep), Senior Boys coach
- Elite level coaching from Melanie Bendfeld (NCCP Level 2 Certified Coach and former BC and varsity athlete), Senior Girls coach
- The Senior Girls team is a long-standing member of the Western Canadian Independent Schools Volleyball Championships tournament, with a 50-year history. This is a unique opportunity for our athletes to compete and connect with teams from across western Canada.
- One of the best volleyball facilities in the city, with three hardwood volleyball courts and top-of-the-line equipment for training, hosting tournaments and weekly match play.
