The Vivat Award
The Vivat Award is St. Michaels University School's highest honour, recognizing significant and enduring contributions to the school's mission by members of its community.
The award recognizes with gratitude and appreciation, a member of the St. Michaels University School community who has made a significant and enduring contribution to fulfilling the mission of the School. Past recipients have included retiring members of the Board of Governors after long and distinguished service, members of faculty who have made a noticeable contribution over the course of their careers at SMUS, members of the alumni committee and those who have been particularly generous to advancement.
The Head of School identifies one or more nominees for the Vivat Award for consideration to the Board of Governors. A recommendation for approval typically happens at the March board meeting. It is expected that in most years one award will be made. In some years two award winners may be identified and as an exception, up to three.
