It was a big night on Jun. 4 for Senior School student-athletes who celebrated with teammates, coaches, staff and families. The evening was highlighted by the main nod of Outstanding Athletes of the Year going to Maddy Albert (volleyball, basketball and soccer) and Wil Woods (soccer, basketball and rugby). The Parents Auxiliary Sportsmanship awards went to Damon Bains (basketball) and Ava Gillespie (volleyball and rugby). Junior Athlete of the Year honours celebrated Indigo Edgington and Quinn McMeekin.

The Athletic Director's Merit Award was given out this year to junior national field hockey team players Wynn Brown, Caitlyn Mullen and Mackenna Brown, as well as squash stand out Lucas Quon. Judy Tobacco was in person to present the award named after her to the top performer in athletics (cross-country running or track and field) and this year that went to Amèlie Fleck. Sport-specific honours continue to be highlighted including Legacy Cup to rower Pippa Hlannon, Nancy Mollenhauer Cup to field hockey's Wynn Brown, the Billy Greenwell Award to basketball's Kian Colgate and the Dalziel Cup to rugby's Rohan Lee.

To cap off the night for graduating Maddy Albert, she was awarded the Multisport Medallion, awarded as a graduating athlete who exemplified a multisport approach for her entire career at SMUS. Hollyn Withers and Nick Gordon were also acknowledged for their contributions to the Athletic Council.

The entire room also took time to thank the coaches, staff, transportation team, as well as the facilities and grounds teams who make each season memorable and possible. There was also special acknowledgement to athletic therapist Tegan Johnson and faculty-coaches who will not be returning including Mr. Brad Ingimundson (cross-country and track and field) and Mr. Eric Donatelli (basketball and golf).

Twelve graduating student-athletes were also highlighted for their success in committing to a post-secondary institution and their athletics program.
