Kyman Chan is a chartered professional accountant with over 30 years professional experience. Kyman is a senior partner in the Victoria office of Grant Thornton LLP where he specializes in providing assurance and business advisory services with a focus on corporate finance, risk management, and strategic planning. He was elected a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in 2013 and a fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada in 2015.
Highlights of Kyman’s past commitment to community service include past board executive positions with Camosun College, Victoria Foundation, South Island Division of Family Practice Society, Royal and McPherson Theatres Society, South Island Prosperity Partnership, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Currently, in addition to his role as a SMUS governor and chair of the Finance committee, Kyman volunteers his time as a board member of the Victoria Chinese Museum Society, and volunteer coach with Victoria Minor Hockey Association.
Kyman is an alumni of SMUS, attending the school from Grade 5 to graduation in 1985. Kyman and his wife Patricia have a son, Connor, Class of 2019.
