Fiona Donald is a Healthcare Executive and is Principal of her own consulting firm, Fiona Donald Consulting, LLC. Fiona provides consultation services in health system innovation, with a focus on Medicaid and Medicare. Prior to consulting, Fiona was the Chief Medical Officer at San Francisco Health Plan and supported the health leadership team at the City and County of San Francisco during the 2020 Pandemic.
Dr. Donald earned a B.Sc. and MDCM degree at McGill where she also completed training in Internal Medicine at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. Fiona completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University and practiced Internal Medicine and Rheumatology for several years at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).
Dr. Donald is an alumni of SMUS, having attended the school from 1980-1982. Fiona’s three sisters are also SMUS graduates: Gillian ‘85, Betsy ‘86, Sarah ‘90 and her nephew Ben graduated from SMUS in 2017. Fiona and her husband Colin live in San Francisco and have 2 daughters. Both girls attended independent schools in San Francisco and are now in college.
