J. David Kim ’05 is a Senior Counsel, Mergers and Acquisitions at Danaher Corporation, a global science and technology innovator in Washington, DC. In this role, Mr. Kim provides strategic advice on Danaher’s global acquisitions in companies in Life Sciences, Diagnostics and Biotechnology sectors. Mr. Kim’s work also includes acting as principal legal advisor within Danaher’s Venture Capital platform to invest in innovative startups and forming partnerships with leading academic and commercial research institutions. Prior to his work at Danaher, Mr. Kim began his career at the Toronto law firm of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP and later relocated to New York City to develop his M&A and Private Equity practices at Latham & Watkins LLP.
David obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where he obtained his BSc in Human Biology and Political Science. Mr. Kim is qualified to practice Law in New York and Ontario.
Mr. Kim is an alumnus of SMUS, having attended the school from 2000 to 2005. Mr. Kim currently lives in the Washington, DC area.
