Andy Rodford was Deputy Head of School and joined SMUS in 2012 from Kempenfelt Bay School, where he was the Head of School for six years. Andy has been involved with education for more than 30 years, previously holding leadership roles at Brentwood College School, Albert College in Belleville, Ontario and as the Director of Onondaga Camp, a large outdoor education centre and children’s summer camp in Haliburton, Ontario.
Andy has degrees in Biology, Geography, Education and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Management. Andy is passionate about all arts and athletics, and has focused on rowing over the years, having participated and coached at various levels, including the Varsity programs at Trent University and the University of Toronto.
Andy has been a speaker at education and camping conferences across North America, has sat on several boards, and is a passionate advocate of continuous professional growth. Andy’s interests include wood carving, painting, boating, outdoor adventures, and increasingly gardening with a Victoria yard of runaway perennials.
